Some Answers to start with ...- Can I read every kind of web page?
You can look at most pages which do not have a cookie- or user/password based authorization. Most pages should be displayed exactly like read directly.
- Can I use other Languages, other Dictionaries ?
More are in preparation.
- Does this not touch other web site`s copy rights?
No, it does not because e-marked does not change anything. You as the reader just get an "added value". The original pages can be seen in your browser and if you look at them through your "e-marked glasses", there is nothing wrong about it. We do not buffer the pages. If they change, they change in e-marked as well. We use free dictionary sources so far, but we plan to offer licensed, very large dictionaries as an option.
- When I follow a link on a filtered page, why is this page not filtered as well?
Unfortunately this would not work at all in many cases. You should browse around until you find a page you want to look at through e-marked. Then you can save the link by "dropping"* or writing it into the field "Link" on the left menue. (* Not every browser allows this.)
- Are there documents and web pages "ready to use" for learners?
Not yet. We suggest that you use e-marked to pick interesting sources for a certain group of learners (or age) and annotates them apropriately.
- Can I use this with any other document types (Word, Text, PDF) ?
It works with HTML only.
- Is this database available in an off line version ?
Not yet. You have to use the Internet version. This makes more sense in any way because you want to use the online dictionaries.
- How does this work behind the scene?
Every page is "filtered" and gets additional functions to take care of your requests. This filter process does not cost much performance. Ony the pure HTML text of a page is routed through the annotation server.
- I want to share documents with a group of users. How can I do this ?
We still do not offer "public themes" or user groups. This will come soon.
